Many retirees move to Palm Springs for retirement because of the large LGBTQ+ community.
There are pros and cons for every place.
Where will you or where have you retired to in California? Is having ample water in the future, and wildfires a concern?

A few years ago when I moved back to California from the East Coast, I chose the Palm Springs area because of its large retired gay population. I was not disappointed.
Real estate prices in Palm Springs are very high, however; nevertheless I bought a condo there but sold it a year later when I met my husband and we moved into a home in Rancho Mirage where daily life is more subdued and where real estate dollars go further.
